• ARBURG makes the vision of the cyber-physical production system reality: production efficiency with Industry 4.0

Iranpolymer- According to Baspar,

For the latest film in the series on Industry 4.0 at K 2016, Plas.TV visited ARBURG in Loßburg.

The company makes injection moulding machines, robotic systems and an additive manufacturing system. It works with its customers to develop complex turnkey solutions. The objective is to constantly increase customers’ production efficiency. One way of doing this is with Industry 4.0 modules. For a long time now, this has extended beyond simple injection moulding alone to include up- and downstream processes, providing flexible adaptability to the required product.

Heinz Gaub, Managing Director Technology & Engineering, sums it up like this: “For us, Industry 4.0 means combining information technology and production engineering into a cyber-physical production system. This system rests on three pillars: the smart machines, the superordinate host computer system that uses IT to connect the machines, and the interfaces and communication protocols that allow machines and peripherals to communicate with each other.

Assistance systems allow our customers to monitor and control the entire manufacturing process. In this way, fault-free quality parts can be manufactured efficiently. This offers decisive advantages for our customers’ competitiveness.”
