LightCycle

Iranpolymer/Baspar  The LightCycle project aims to advance the recycling of glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite waste, particularly polypropylene (PP) from post-consumer sources and shredded PP UD tapes. This innovation involves injection molding compounding with inline quality control to efficiently recycle these materials. The goal is to reduce energy consumption, achieve significant CO2 savings, and close material cycles by upcycling waste into high-quality products. The project consortium, consisting of industry and science partners, is contributing to a circular economy and positive climate impact by enhancing process efficiency and substituting primary resources with recycled materials in lightweight construction for transportation and renewable energy applications.
