A report on Iran import and export of rubber and plastic machinery

IRANPOLYMER/ BASPAR  In order to collect data on import and export of machinery, custom tariff codes, presented in table 1, perused in Tehran Chamber of Commerce website. For separation of commodities, custom tariff codes of 84775100, 84775900, and 84778000 were considered as “other”. This report includes the data in 21 March 2017 to 20 March 2018 (namely period A, equal to year 1396 in Iranian calendar) and 21 March 2018 to 22 July 2018 (namely period B, equal to the first 4 months of year 1397 in Iranian calendar).

Import of rubber and plastic machinery

Trend of total machinery import for rubber and plastic industries is shown in Fig.1 and Fig.2. 

The total amount of machinery import has been 253.28 million dollars /8645.06 billion rials and 62.24 million dollars /2563.11 billion rials in period A and period B, respectively. According the statistics, import value in rial has increased and import value in dollar has decreased in period B compared to period A.

Monthly import trends of different machinery such as extruders, blow molding, injection molding, and thermoforming machines are presented in Table.2 and Table.3 for period A and period B. As it can be seen, the major injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming machine import were in 22 December 2017 to 20 January 2018, 23 september 2017 to 22 October 2017, and 22 June 2017 to 22 July 2017, respectively.

The total machinery import value is depicted in Fig.4 and Fig.5 by country of origin, in period A. China ranked first in the machinery import in Iran with a value of 3333.92 billion rials (39% of import value in rials), followed by Germany with a value of 1805.68 billion rials (21% of import value in rials), and Italy with a value of 648.59 billion rials (8% of import value in rials) in the third place.

The total machinery import value is depicted in Fig.6 and Fig.7 by country of origin, in period B. China ranked first in the machinery import with a value of 959.78 billion rials (37% of import value in rials), United Arab Emirates with a value of 470.85 billion rials (18%) takes the second place, following by Italy with a value of 224.70 billion rials (9%), and Turkey with a value of 227.13 billion rials (9%).

The import of extruders, injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming machineries is shown in Table.3 and Fig.8 by country, in period A. China with a value of 1256.2 billion rials (53%), Austria with 179.5 billion rials (8%), and Luxembourg with 172.6 billion rials (7%) are the leading countries for import of injection molding machines. For extruder import, china with a value of 528.6 billion rials (48%), Italy with 187.9 billion rials (17%), and United Arab Emirates with 131.2 billion rials (12%) are the chosen countries. For blow molding machine import, China with 152.7 billion rials (27%), Germany with 138.7 billion rials (25%), and United Arab Emirates with 54.4 billion rials (10%) are the top countries. For thermoforming machine import, Germany with 165.5 billion rials (40%), China with 74.5 billion rials (18%), and Korea with 63.6 billion rials (15%) are the head of countries.
