Baerlocher expands capacity to support its leadership in calcium-based stabilizers and launches production of metal soaps in China

Baerlocher, a leading global manufacturer of additives for the plastics industry, continues to invest significantly in its production plant in Changzhou. The company is actively supporting the Chinese plastics industry in its ongoing transition to sustainable calcium-based stabilizer systems for PVC applications. Baerlocher exhibits at booth N1C0 during Chinaplas 2016 in Shanghai from April 25-28.


In addition to the move away from lead, fittings stabilized with methyl tin face scrutiny due to water quality concerns, consequently, replacement by calcium-based stabilizers is expected here as well.
Baerlocher leads the transition with calcium-based PVC stabilizers in China
Since commencing production of calcium-based stabilizers at its Changzhou plant in 2012, Baerlocher has lead the change, introducing Calcium based stabilizers in all PVC applications with sales in China already in excess of 20Ktpa.
In 2016, an investment of $5m will take the total investment to date to $25m which has provided further increase to its capacity to produce non dusting Calcium based stabilizers to support the ongoing transition. The company’s Malaysian plant continues to support the growth in China supplying Calcium based stabilizers to supplement the security of supply with identical technology.
