Iranpolymer/Baspar At K 2025, Tomra will present a broad set of technologies aimed at advancing plastics circularity.
The company’s Recycling, Collection, Feedstock, and Reuse divisions will come together to share developments in sorting, collection, and reuse systems.
Tomra Recycling will demonstrate several sorting systems designed to improve the quality of recycled plastics. These include the AUTOSORT platform combined with GAINnext AI for complex material recognition. The INNOSORT FLAKE and AUTOSORT FLAKE units for high-quality flake separation will also be on display.
Tomra Insight’s cloud-based monitoring portal and PolyPerception’s AI-driven material analysis will showcase how sorting operations can benefit from greater transparency and efficiency.
On the collection side, Tomra will showcase its reverse vending technology used in deposit return schemes. A key feature will be the Tomra R1 multi-feed system, which allows users to return over 100 containers at once. Together with the Tomra T9 machine and the MultiPac Air backroom solution, the system is designed to increase processing speed and capacity, while handling a variety of container materials.
Tomra Feedstock will present Områ, Norway’s upcoming national sorting facility for plastic packaging, which will begin operations in late 2025. The plant is designed to sort mixed waste streams into ten mono-fractions suitable for higher-grade recycling, offering an industrial-scale test case for advanced feedstock sorting.
Tomra Reuse will share results from pilot projects in Aarhus, Denmark, and Lisbon, Portugal, where city-level systems for reusable takeaway packaging are being tested. The division is also exploring reuse infrastructure for large venues and events, including modular return points capable of handling cups, boxes, and bowls.
“Over the past 50 years, Tomra has been a provider of solutions for increasing plastics circularity,” said Tove Andersen, President and CEO of Tomra. “At K 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for plastics and rubbers, we have decided to present our wide range of solutions and insights together, to showcase the opportunities available for customers and partners looking to reduce, reuse and recycle plastics in a holistic manner.
