{"id":109281,"date":"2024-12-08T08:51:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-08T05:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polymervapooshesh.ir\/?p=109281"},"modified":"2024-12-10T10:10:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T06:40:08","slug":"distrupol-sold-to-plastics-distributor-omya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/polymervapooshesh.ir\/en\/distrupol-sold-to-plastics-distributor-omya\/","title":{"rendered":"Distrupol sold to plastics distributor Omya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"first-graph\" class=\"inline-ad-para\" dir=\"ltr\"><strong><em>Iranpolymer\/Baspar <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0England-based plastics distributor Distrupol, so far an\u00a0affiliate of GPD Companies, will be sold to Omya, a Swiss producer of essential minerals and polymer distributor.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">GPD Companies said it entered into a definitive agreement for the sale, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.\u00a0GDP acquired the European plastics distributor\u00a0from chemicals distribution firm Univar Solutions in 2021.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Distrupol, based in Chertsey, has served a wide range of markets, including consumer, medical, automotive and electrical for\u00a0more than 60 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-ad-para\" dir=\"ltr\">It sells more than 4,000 grades of material to more than 1,300 customers in 13 countries. Its portfolio includes sustainably derived solutions that reduce environmental impact. The firm currently distributes resins and compounds from 22 suppliers, including world-leading producers such as Celanese, Ineos, Chi Mei, and Versalis. Distrupol\u2019s managing director Richard Orme won the\u00a0Plastics industry Ambassador Award 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-ad-para\" dir=\"ltr\">Over the last three years, Distrupol acquired Baritec AB and Lautrup Chemical in the Nordic region and\u00a0expanded its operations into Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, adding to its presence in the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux, and Egypt<b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-ad-para\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;GPD is pleased with the tremendous success Distrupol has achieved under our ownership,\u201d said Kurt Schuering, CEO of GPD. \u201cWe believe that Omya offers a great home for Distrupol\u2019s long-term future and wish the team continued success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Besides distribution, Omya also produces additives based on calcium carbonate for virgin and recycled plastics.
