Iranpolymer\/Baspar\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>With many plastic professionals set to experience their last K as they head into retirement, the K 2025 is turning its focus toward the next generation.<\/p>\n

With the new \u201cYoung Talents\u201d initiative, the event aims to inspire school pupils, students, and young professionals to explore careers in the plastics industry. From Oct. 8 to 15, visitors to the D\u00fcsseldorf exhibition grounds will find a wide range of opportunities for career guidance, networking, and hands-on experiences.<\/p>\n

The initiative highlights the diverse prospects available in the industry \u2013 from advancing the circular economy to pioneering solutions in medicine and mobility. Information booths, live demonstrations, and direct exchange with companies and associations will help young visitors learn more about training and study paths.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the fair, a\u00a0new podcast\u00a0called \u201cA look behind the scenes \u2013 young talents in the plastics industry\u201d has already gone live. In it, four trainees and students share insights into their working lives, challenges, and opportunities. The same four will also lead the Young Talents Tour on Sunday, Oct. 12, guiding visitors through key stations including the GKV Young Talents Lounge and the exhibition stands of companies such as Arburg, Erema, Covestro and Simona. The tour is free and does not require prior registration.<\/p>\n

The GKV is sponsoring the official Young Talents Lounge, offering visitors interactive experiences such as VR applications, an obstacle course, and a mini injection moulding machine. The lounge will also showcase innovative study programs and bring together winners of the G\u00fcnter Schwank Prize, honouring the best graduates in plastics technology each year.<\/p>\n

The VDMA pavilion, part of the \u201cPower of Plastics!\u201d Forum, will host a daily \u201cYoung Talents Time\u201d from Oct. 9 to 14. Young professionals will discuss ideas for the future of the plastics industry, while initiatives such as EnSHEneer aim to strengthen the role of women in mechanical engineering.<\/p>\n

On Career Sunday on Oct. 12, Plastics Europe Germany will dedicate its special show \u201cPlastics Shape the Future\u201d entirely to young talent. Panels and talks will explore innovative recruiting methods, from gaming to diversity, alongside interactive formats like \u201cHR Bullshit Bingo\u201d and a Science & Poetry Slam. To encourage participation, school pupils, trainees and students will enjoy free admission on this day with valid ID.<\/p>\n
