Following the process change at BASF&rsquo;s Asian production sites, the modification will take place in the US plants.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3b3938;\"><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #3b3938; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 5px; letter-spacing: normal;\">Improved Polyol Grades<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"color: #3b3938; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 20px;\">\n<li>Alongside isocyanate, polyol is the starting product for polyurethane foam systems.<\/li>\n<li>The emissions are optimized by improving finishing processes of Lupranol&reg;<\/li>\n<li>The mechanical properties of the material remain unchanged during the processing steps.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>There is no need for elaborate tests or renewed approvals of the PU systems based on these improved polyol grades.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>BASF markets the PU systems for flexible, semi-rigid and integral foams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3b3938;\">BASF &#39;s Lupranol&reg; grades contributes to automotive components with ever lower emissions.<\/span><br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/polymer-additives.specialchem.com\/supplier\/basf\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"color: 5e;\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span title=\" BASF \" style=\"color: 00;\">BASF&nbsp;<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #3b3938;\">PU systems are tested internally as well as by certified test laboratories like Imat-Uve and Institut Fresenius.&nbsp;<\/span><br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3b3938;\">The improvement of the emission values varies from part to part: An average reduction of 20 percent is possible.<\/span><br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<strong style=\"color: #3b3938;\">Governments are demanding lower emissions for vehicle interiors to:<\/strong><br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"color: #3b3938; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 20px;\">\n<li>Reduce the impact of volatile substances on the health of car drivers<\/li>\n<li>Lessen the typical new-car smell.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3b3938;\">The focus is on aldehydes such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde, as well as aromatics from polyurethanes.&nbsp;<\/span><br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<br style=\"color: #3b3938; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3b3938;\">BASF is working intensively on developing PU systems which allow for car components with lower emissions.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #3b3938;\">BASF has improved the process for manufacturing Lupranol&reg; (polyether polyol).
