Niazi, the president of Baniar Polymer Company, one of the exhibition sponsors, talking to IRANPLAST exhibition daily, said: \u201cin the year 2009 we started our activities to establish the factory and in spite of the extended sanctions, by the use of efficient management and good team work the factory commenced operation after four years. Fire retardant expanded polystyrene (FR-EPS) is the main product of Baniar Polymer, and is being produced for the first time in Iran.\u201d Niazi added that the company has 15 years of experience in producing polystyrene foams and said: \u201cwe have expanded our activities in the field of polystyrene by commencing the FR-EPS production line to prevent money going out of the country. Now I am glad to announce that the company offers its products with international standards, which is undoubtedly a source of national pride.\u201d
\n\u201cWe presently produce four grades of FR-EPS: F-1000, F-2000, F-3000 and F-4000 which are different in particle size,\u201d he said and added: \u201cin the first stage, we have achieved a production capacity of 60000 metric tons per year. Moreover, all our products pass the quality control tests before distributing. These products need an oxygen concentration of 24% to produce flames. Since the oxygen content of air is only 21%, these materials act as fire retardants. In addition, our products contain at least 6% pentan. We are ready 24 hours of day to answer the technical questions of our clients.\u201d Niyazi said that the country imports about 700000 metric tons of FR-EPS products and continued: \u201cif the government supports the domestic producers, we will be able to provide 90% of this need. Currently we export our products to Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and Turkmenistan.\u201d
\nAbout their motives for sponsoring the exhibition, Niazi said: \u201cBaniar Polymer is a young company and we felt it should be introduced to internal and foreign customers. In addition, we have aim to exchange ideas with other contributors. IRANPLAST has been growing each year in all scientific, cultural and economical aspects.\u201d
\n\u201cThe government does not support domestic production versus importation, which is the main problem of the country\u2019s polymer industry. Furthermore, most of the country\u2019s polymer technology has come from abroad which is not appropriate.
