WITTMANN BATTENFELD is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its business partners on June 13 and 14. Among other attractions, the guests will have the opportunity to experience the company’s expertise first-hand with 14 machines from the PowerSeries demonstrating interesting processes and applications. The exhibition program will be rounded off with numerous novelties from the range of WITTMANN robots and peripherals.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The integration of BATTENFELD Kunststofftechnik into the WITTMANN Group 10 years ago was, among other things, the starting point for the revision and new development of the company’s entire range of machines. A machine portfolio was developed under the brand name PowerSeries, <\/em>which is now the market leader in terms of energy efficiency. Other important features of the PowerSeries <\/em>are ultimate precision and repeatability from one shot to the next, compactness, flexibility and user-friendliness of the machines.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

NEW – VPower<\/em> vertical<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At the 10th anniversary celebration on June 13 and 14, WITTMANN will present its entire portfolio of the PowerSeries<\/em>, including the prototype of the new VPower<\/em>, the company’s vertical machine in the latest PowerSeries <\/em>design. On display will be a VPower <\/em>160\/750 with a rotary table 1600 mm in diameter and with a servo-electric drive. The machine has a substantially reduced footprint, its low, ergonomic working height is very convenient for users, and its generously dimensioned servo-electric rotary table ensures short rotary times. Even after commissioning, the injection unit can be converted easily from vertical to horizontal. Dispensing with a central tie-bar has made it possible to install central media supply from below, or fitting the machine with a compact rotary distributor. Thanks to its open design, the machine is ideally suited for the integration of automation systems with insert feeding and finished parts removal functions.<\/span><\/p>\n

EcoPower <\/em><\/strong>Xpress 500<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Another novelty is the 500-ton version of the high-speed EcoPower<\/em> Xpress, an EcoPower <\/em>Xpress 500\/3300+, on which a 2.8 liter bucket will be manufactured with a 4-cavity mold supplied by Abate, Italy, using IML technology from WITTMANN. The IML system is a high-speed device with a W837 side-entry robot, which is fully integrated in the machine’s control system. The buckets are manufactured within a cycle time of 8.5 seconds. The machine is equipped with the CMS condition monitoring system from WITTMANN BATTENFELD, which ensures continuous monitoring of its key parameters.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

NEW – large 2,000 mm rotary disc<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

An interesting detail of the MacroPower<\/em> 1300\/5100H\/750L COMBIMOULD to be presented at the 10th anniversary celebration is the servo-electric rotary disc with a diameter of 2,000 mm. On this machine, an air duct element for the automotive industry will be produced with a 1+1-cavity mold.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visitors at the event will also get an opportunity to see the largest machine currently manufactured in Kottingbrunn, a MacroPower<\/em> 2000\/12800H\/350L COMBIMOULD. This machine is the 2-component version of the largest machine model in the MacroPower<\/em> series. It is equipped with a robot from the new WX series from WITTMANN, a WX173.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The full scope of WITTMANN 4.0 integration will be demonstrated impressively using an EcoPower<\/em> 90\/350, in whose UNILOG B8 control system the robot and all peripherals connected to the machine have been integrated. As a novelty, the electronic data sheet will be used in the UNILOG B8 control system. This electronic data sheet serves to configure a production cell integrated via the WITTMANN 4.0 router in accordance with the selected mold dataset, including all necessary appliances such as robots, temperature controllers, metering devices, dryers and electronic flow controllers. Via the “plug & produce” mode, the production cell is ready for start-up in next to no time. All required data for quality management from the machine and the peripherals are available for documentation via WITTMANN 4.0. Moreover, the WITTMANN 4.0 router allows secure access by a single IP address (single point entry) to all modules of the production cell for servicing by the web service.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

WITTMANN BATTENFELD will also show applications from the fields of medical technology, micro injection molding, MIM powder injection molding, CELLMOULD® <\/sup>structured foam technology and the AIRMOULD®<\/sup> internal gas pressure process. Some novelties from the WITTMANN Group’s range of robots and peripheral appliances will be presented as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the show of exhibits, the guests of WITTMANN BATTENFELD will be presented with a number of interesting speeches, starting with presentations about the corporate development and a keynote speech about cyber-physical production systems held by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Schilp from Augsburg University, and continuing with several short presentations about topics regarding specific process technologies or machinery.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the course of the guided company tours which are planned, visitors will have an opportunity to see the company’s extended production facility and new manufacturing technologies, including the new processing line for the machines from the SmartPower<\/em> and EcoPower<\/em> series from 180 t clamping force upwards.<\/span><\/p>\n
