{"id":93183,"date":"2023-11-26T09:17:18","date_gmt":"2023-11-26T05:47:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polymervapooshesh.ir\/?p=93183"},"modified":"2023-11-27T10:30:45","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T07:00:45","slug":"bioplastics-manufacturer-floreon-secures-gbp-2-million-in-series-a-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/polymervapooshesh.ir\/en\/bioplastics-manufacturer-floreon-secures-gbp-2-million-in-series-a-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Bioplastics manufacturer Floreon secures GBP 2 million in series A funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><em><strong>Iranpolymer\/Baspar\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Northern Gritstone,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">an<\/span>\u00a0investment business focused on university spin-outs and science and technology-enabled businesses in the North of England, has announced a\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">GBP\u00a0<\/span>2 million Series A investment into the\u00a0bioplastics developer Floreon, a spin-out technology from the University of Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Floreon makes proprietary compounds based on polylactic acid bioresin\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">(PLA)\u00a0<\/span>containing 70<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">% to\u00a0<\/span>9<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">0%\u00a0<\/span>renewable, plant-based raw materials<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">, including corn and sugar cane. The company says\u00a0<\/span>the materials are tougher than traditional PLA and can deliver significant energy savings in processing.\u00a0Floreon also developed an alternative to flame retardant oil-based\u00a0Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">. Its halogen-free bioplastic, the world\u2019s first bioplastic to achieve\u00a0<\/span>UL94V-0 flammability certification<span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\">, offers a safe and sustainable option for electrical goods.
