Univation launches LDPE and EVA production technology

Iranpolymer/Baspar Univation Technologies, a polyethylene (PE) technology licensor, has launched its UNIGILITY Tubular High Pressure PE Process Technology platform.

This new offering provides a licensed platform for PE producers to manufacture both low-density PE (LDPE) and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer resins.

UNIGILITY leverages Dow‘s established tubular high-pressure PE manufacturing platform, known for its broad product range and top-quartile performance metrics.

The company said the technology offers several key benefits for licensees:

Safe and reliable operations: Automated plant start-up and shutdown procedures ensure consistent operation while the energy-efficient design minimises utility costs.

High-performance products: UNIGILITY enables the production of LDPE suitable for a wide range of applications, including general-purpose and agricultural films, shrink films, heavy-duty shipping sacks, and extrusion coating and lamination.

Diverse EVA capabilities: Licensees can also produce EVA resins for applications in industrial and food packaging such as greenhouse films, footwear components, flexible hoses, photovoltaics, and food packaging for cheese, meat, and cereals.

UNIGILITY EVA products boast properties such as low sealing temperatures, enhanced flexibility and impact resistance, improved clarity, and strong adhesion to various substrates.

Univation Technologies brings more than 55 years of experience in PE licensing to the table.

The company’s UNIPOL PE Process platform and catalyst portfolio cater to the linear LDPE and high-density PE markets.

“Univation is pleased to offer licensees a proven, state-of-the-art tubular high-pressure PE manufacturing platform and associated portfolio of well-recognised LDPE and EVA resin products,” said Nathan J Wiker, president of Univation Technologies.

“Through our UNIGILITY Tubular High Pressure PE Process Technology platform, Univation provides a robust licensed technology offering which includes process design, operational know-how, a full portfolio of proven LDPE and EVA resin products, and complete licensing services and technical support before, during and after the plant start-up.”
